Further Information on: A 22nd Taste of Morland
May 19th to 20th 2018
The Taste of Morland weekend is intended to be an introduction to Camp for children aged 6-12.
We have room for up to 40 children and we try to have equal numbers of boys and girls. We will be singing under the expert guidance of Emma Richardson, now firmly established in the team. First practice will be on the Saturday morning at 9.30.
we will have outdoor activities which everyone so much enjoys at Camp. Dam-building and sports always seem to be popular.
On the Saturday evening…
we will give an informal concert. There might be a chance for you to play or sing your party-piece, so bring your instruments and music with you. Get all the family to put the date and time (6.30 pm) in their diaries now.
On the Sunday afternoon…
At 2 pm to finish our weekend, we will sing Evensong at Morland church. This will be a special ‘Taste of Morland’ service, and we do hope that all your family and friends will be able to come to it.
we want there to be a nominated adult – parent, teacher, choir trainer – responsible for each child. (One adult can be responsible for more than one child.) We usually find that these people are very keen to make themselves useful, boosting the singing, seeing to the meals, as well as looking after the children in their free time.
For lunch on both days, we ask you to bring enough food for you and your children to eat and we will pool it as a Jacob’s Join meal. We will provide drinks and also a cooked meal at teatime on the Saturday.
If you have any special dietary requirements or other queries about food, please get in touch with Julia Evans at Morland. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
will be at about 8 p.m. on the Saturday and 3 p.m. on the Sunday.
Everything costs money!
There will be a charge of £35 per child to cover tutors, music, food and administration. Further information is available from David Jones.
In the past, most people have lived near enough to be able to sleep in their own beds. Word has now spread, and I am delighted that we now have interest from further afield. And some local people seem to like camping as well! We do have a campsite here (look for it on our web site) where you could set up your family tent or caravan, and we also have a self-catering holiday cottage. Alternatively, there are B&B places in the area where you might go. Let me know what you would like and I will try to arrange it for you.
