The next of these will be in September 2024, from the 20th to the 22nd, and full information can be had from Ian at ij_kg@btinternet.com

The Morland Scottish Country Dancing week began in 1987, and for nearly 20 years had the benefit of John Drewry and Jackie Johnstone as writers and teachers. After their retirement, we moved to a new pattern, sharing out among ourselves the work of compiling dance programmes and running morning workshops. For the morning sessions we use recorded music, but for the evening dances we have the services of the highest calibre of live musicians.
Dates for 2025 are Monday evening, May 26th and going through to Friday evening, May 30th. (Most people stay over the extra night and go home on the Saturday.) For those who like to make a full week of it, there is a dance in Morland Village Hall on Saturday evening, May 24th.
Please email David Jones (david@newbyendfarm.co.uk) for full details.

The Morland Folk Dance Week began in 1986. We have had a great variety of bands and callers over the years, and latterly the core callers have been Victoria Yeomans and Ian Jones, with Deo Volente and Kendal Green bands. There are workshop sessions in the daytime in Morland Village Hall and in the Barn at Newby End Farm, and social dances in the evenings. Our philosophy is based on the belief that our dances, old and new, are a priceless inheritance and that our pleasure in dancing them is enhanced immeasurably when we dance them well, concentrating on embodying the music and without the need for constant calling.
The 2024 Folk Dance Week begins on Saturday, August 10th.
Please email David Jones (david@newbyendfarm.co.uk) for full details.
